The Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, established in 1996, received approval of the medical council of India (MCI), for the award of MBBS degree for its very first batch. The college has been accorded the status of Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India on recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) within a period of just six and a half years of establishment, perhaps the shortest period of such recognition.
This is the first private college in the State of Maharashtra to receive MCI approval to increase in the intake from 100 to 150 students in 2003 and from 150 to 250, within the shortest span of time.
The college building is a masterpiece of architecture and has all state-of-the-art facilities that are in tune with the best in the world.
The college building basks in fine aesthetics and is impressive. It has a mural of Lord Dhanvantari on its facade and the magnificent fibre glass dome can be seen from miles around
D. Y. Patil University was established in the year 2005, in the name of the great educationist Padmashree DR. D. Y. PATIL. It has its sponsoring institution ‘D.Y. Patil Education Society.” The society was established in 1986 and is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 bearing no. Maharashtra/3029/86 on 23rd November 1986. The society started its Medical College in 1989, which was initially affiliated to the Shivaji University, Kolhapur and later on affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. After almost two decades of status as an affiliated college, based on excellent and constant academic performance, a very strong and aesthetic infrastructural system, efficient and transparent governance and distinct potential for future progress, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development, on the recommendation of University Grants Commission under Section 3 of UGC Act of 1956, vide its Notification No. F.9-26/2004-U-3 dated 1st September 2005, has accorded the Deemed to be University status to D. Y. Patil Education Society consisting of D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur.
Dr. D. Y. Patil Educational Group is well organized, well focused organization in education and health care systems since last three decades and today stands the hallmark in field of education.
In order to undertake the frontier level research in the field of medical science, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research has been established in the University. There are at present 14 collaborative faculty members and 20 full time research scholars working under difference projects sanctioned by DST, DRDO, CSIR, New Delhi and BRNS, Mumbai. The Centre offers interdisciplinary science research programmes leading to medical research and the Ph.D. awards. To fill up the gap between undergraduate and Ph.D. programme, the University has started two Post Graduate programmes; namely M.Sc. Medical Physics and M.Sc. Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine. In order to supplement these research activities, the Centre has organized number of national and international conferences and workshops since its establishment.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidate, who possesses Indian Nationality, with a proof in the form of Nationality Certificate/valid passport, is eligible to appear for AIPGMET – 2015

The candidate who has passed final MBBS exam from a recognized Medical College, included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, is eligible
The candidate who has obtained registration either from the MCI or from authorized State Medical Council after completing one-year compulsory rotating internship
The candidate who is still undergoing one-year compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete it by 31st March 2015, will be permitted to appear at the AIPGMET-2015
His /her selection will be subject to completion of compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 15th April 2015

A NRI/PIO/FN candidate, who has passed the MBBS or equivalent exam from a College outside India, shall be eligible for the admission, provided he/she obtains registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI)
Candidate under this category is not required to appear for AIPGMET-2015; admissions will be made on the basis of inter-se merit as determined by admission committee appointed for the purpose by the Competent Authority

The provisional selection for the General Seats in the Post Graduate Courses will be done on the basis of merit in All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (AIPGMET – 2015)-cum-preference given by the candidate
When all the Seats in a given Course are filled admission of students to that Course will instantaneously cease and Dr. DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, will not be responsible for non-availability of seats and non allotment of seats to rest of the candidates

No marks will be assigned where there is overwriting, scratching, double marking, or multiple answers
The examination medium will be English 300 objectives type multiple choice questions (MCQs)
Each MCQ will have four answer options with a single best response
There will be no negative marking; the examination medium will be English
Admit Card
The Admit Card will be made available on the University website, One week before the Entrance Test Issue of Admit Card is just an enabling provision for appearing AIPGMET-2015 and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility for the admission
Form number & date of birth are mandatory field for downloading admit card
Form number, to the downloaded form, shall be allotted by Vidyapeeth on its arrival & scrutiny and shall be communicated through e-mail

Post Graduate aspirant will be required to submit prescribed form of the AIPGMET-2015, available on the Vidyapeeth website and/or included in information brochure

Information brochure along with blank application form will also be available at the University Office on payment of Rs.1500/- Cash or Demand Draft in favour of “The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune”, payable at Pune drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank
If required by post the candidates will have to send a Demand Draft of Rs.1750/-
Candidates should fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting clearly and legibly
The examination fee for AIPGMET-2015 is Rs.2000/- (for late submission is Rs.2500/-) which should be paid at the time of submission of application form in the form of Demand Draft drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of “The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune”, payable at Pune
The downloaded application form, duly filled in, along with necessary documents and a demand draft of Rs.3750/- (covering form fee plus test fee plus postage) should reach the university office before the last date of submission of form
The candidate should submit photocopies of the following documents along with the application form; statement of marks of I/II/III MBBS exam; attempt certificate; MBBS degree/passing certificate; internship completion certificate; registration certificate (MCI/State MC); age and nationality certificate; bonafide certificate from Dean; transfer certificate; migration certificate; proof of date of birth
